PARENTING
In my
opinion, the teaching, rearing, and training of children
requires more intelligence, intuitive understanding, humility,
strength, wisdom, spirituality, perseverance, and hard work
than any other challenge we might have in life.
This is especially so when moral foundations of honor and decency
are eroding around us.
For us to have successful homes, values must be taught,
and there must be rules, there must be standards,
there must be absolutes.
James E. Faust
PASSION
If a man does not keep pace
with his companions,
perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer.
Let him step to the music which he hears,
however measured or far away.
Henry David Thoreau
The work of art must seize upon you, wrap
you up in itself
and carry you away.
It is the means by which the artist conveys
his passion.
It is the current which he puts forth,
which
sweeps you along in his passion.
Pierre-Auguste Renoir
Every
calling is great when greatly pursued.
Oliver Wendell Holmes

If you sing like an
angel
but do it without love,
you'll never rise above the crowd.
If you chase after your goals
but forget your heart,
you'll always be answering to someone else.
If you follow the same path
without trying another,
you'll always be left wondering.
If you strive for perfection
but do it without heart,
your work will have no soul.
If you live your life
but do it without passion and purpose,
you'll always wonder
"What could have been?"
Jace Carlton
Don't ask yourself what the

ask yourself what makes you come alive,
and then go and do that.
What the world needs
is people who have come alive.
Harold Whitman
You must believe in what you're doing
otherwise you're just wasting your time.
Find a personal calling that you can be passionate about
and follow your heart.
In the end,
you'll be grateful you followed your heart,
rather than what someone else said you should do.

Find out where your heart belongs

The
rules are simple.
Take your work, but never
yourself, seriously.
Pour in the love and whatever skill you have,
and
it will come out.
Chuck Jones
To
live content with small means -
to seek elegance rather than luxury,
and refinement rather than
fashion,
to be
worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich -
to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly,
to listen
to stars and birds, babes and sages, with an open heart -
to bear all cheerfully - do all bravely, await occasions - never
hurry;
in a
word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious,
grow up through
the
common.
This is to be my symphony.
William Ellery Channing
Life is like a

Anyone can play a song through meaningless

Everyone should

Hasidic saying
When mindless, unchallenging, routine
existence and safety
are blindly accepted and become unthinking goals,
there can be no authenticity,
because you and everyone else has a mission,
a purpose in life that cannot be denied if you are to live fully.
If you have no purpose, you have no passion.
If you have no passion, you have sold yourself out.
I know that, because I know that within each of us there are passions
that,
if acknowledged and released,
will energize and excite the experience of life.

PRICELESS
A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20
bill in the room of 200.
He asked, "Who would like this $20.00?" Hands started going up.
He said, "I'm going to give this to one of you, but first, let me
do this." He proceeded to crumple the bill up.
He then asked, "Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in
the air.
"Well," he replied, "what if I do this?"
He dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with
his shoe.
He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. "Now, who still wants
it?" Still hands went into the air.
"My friends, you all have learned a very valuable lesson. No
matter what I did to the money,
you still wanted it, because it did not decrease in value. It is
still worth 20 dollars.
Many times in our lives we are dropped, crumpled and ground into
the dirt
by the circumstances that come our way and the decisions we make.
We feel that we are worthless,
but, no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never
lose your value,
dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to
those who love you.
The worth of our lives comes not in what we do, or who we know,
but who we are.
You are special, don't ever forget it!"
