Triumph
From Tragedy
Ralph Marston
When
you experience
misfortune, or when another person wrongs you, or when
you find yourself in difficult circumstances, you can choose to be a
victim. You can choose to solicit sympathy and to feel sorry for
yourself. You
can choose to take comfort in the knowledge that someone else is
responsible for your
troubles.
Or you can choose to pick yourself up and move yourself forward.
You can refuse to allow yourself to be a victim. Others may hurt
you.
Circumstances may work against you. Tragedy may come your
way. Yet none of this
means you must consent to be a victim.
Choose to make triumph rise from tragedy. Choose to make every
defeat a temporary one on the way to ultimate victory. Rather
than being
skilled at complaining and collecting excuses, become skilled at
adapting and
turning even the most difficult circumstances in your favor.
Every opportunity
to be a victim is also an opportunity to move ahead. The path you
choose
is up to you.
